Why don’t CMYK percentages match my RGB / HEX in Illustrator, browser, and free color pickers?
Apps use different profiles, black generation, and rounding. Here, CMYK is a plain 0–100% model for preview; integer CMYK can also correspond to several nearby RGB triples after rounding, so reversing CMYK to HEX may not match another app unless you share the same profile and rules.
Detailed answer
Treat HEX/RGB as the source of truth for UI work. Use CMYK as a communication hint to printers. Our guide on the Color Picker explains non-unique reverse mapping; dedicated converters align with the picker when you copy values from it.
Relationship context
Consistency matters more than a single “true” CMYK for a screen swatch—always confirm with print proofs.
